Yek (2022):

This piece stemmed from the sentiment that I wanted to ward off my bad luck and was inspired by bracelets worn by children to keep the evil eye away.

With I made this piece I grew along side it mentally, and shifted my mindset from:

I have bad luck to I have fair luck.

Meaning I learned to shift my perspective in order to be fair to myself.

This lesson occurred at the same time I began to learn náhuat and listen to Nahua elders. so I was put in a position to reflect on my thoughts and perspectives.
